Hello, and welcome. My name is Kevin. This blog, newsletter, however you receive it, will serve as my marginal corner of the internet where I can reflect and publicly work through whatever most preoccupies my thoughts.

I won't appeal to my credentials or try to convince you that I'm any sort of expert on one subject or other. I have been a golf caddy, college student, pizza delivery guy, barista, journalist, and a researcher. I've been a bar tender, restaurant general manager, caterer, and a software engineer. I have been laid off twice (so far) in my life, beginning when I was 23 and then again at 31.

I was born and raised in the Midwest. Since then, I have lived on the East coast, the shores of Lake Michigan, and as far afield as the California desert. I've had too many jobs and addresses to mention, but the point is that all of it – the people, places, highs and lows – has shaped me into the person speaking to you now.

My aim here is really just to externalize the torrent of thoughts and ideas ping-ponging around in my head. Thanks for reading.
